About the H.O.D.

HOD PicDr. Aremu Olanrewaju SULYMAN had his first degree in Geography from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria and Master’s degree in Urban and Regional Planning from University of Ibadan, Ibadan and Ph.D. in Geography from University of Ilorin, Ilorin. He started his academic career with the then Kwara State College of Technology, Ilorin, Nigeria now Kwara State Polytechnic in 1981 as an Assistant Lecturer and rose to the peak of his career as a chief Lecturer in the Department of Town and Regional Planning in 2006. During his 26 years stay with Kwara State Polytechnic, Ilorin, he held many positions which include, Head of Department of Town and Regional Planning, Director, School of Environmental Studies (SES) and Director, Industrial Liaison Office. He was a member of the academic board and served in many of the Polytechnic’s Ad-hoc and Standing committees.
He was a two term member of the board of Kwara State Town Planning and Development Authority (TPDA) in 1992 and 1999 respectively, and was later appointed as the substantive Executive Secretary (Chief Executive Officer) of the organization in 2000.
Dr. Sulyman transferred his service to Federal University of Technology, Minna in August 2007 as a senior Lecturer and has served in many of the University’s committees. He was the representative of School of Environmental Technology (SET) in the senate. He was the Deputy Director, Centre for Human Settlements and Urban Development (CHSUD) from 2011 to 2016. He is currently the Head of Department of Urban and Regional Planning in the School of Environmental Technology of the University
Professionally, Dr. Sulyman is a Corporate Member of the Nigerian Institute of Town Planners (NITP) and a Registered Town Planner (RTP) with the Town Planners Registration Council (TOPREC). He is happily married and blessed with children. He has many publications to his credit.



To provide a world class environment for high quality academic and technological training in all areas of Agriculture suitable for the developments of high caliber manpower and to generate sustainable improvement in all areas of Agriculture, through teaching, research and extension to local and international communities.

To provide graduates that are adequately equipped with comprehensive theoretical knowledge and practical skills required for engaging in efficient Agricultural production for self-employment and conducting of cutting edge problems solving research in aspect of Agriculture.
